“Mindfulness means being awake. It means knowing what you are doing.”
― Jon Kabat-Zinn.
Mindfulness is about paying attention to the present moment to live life in a more conscious and fuller way. By developing an awareness for what is going in the present moment, one will hopefully develop a greater understanding and appreciation for life and the many things it might challenge us. Mindfulness training harnesses various awareness training exercises and activities to stimulate self-inquiry to develop mindful approaches which can be applied to daily life.
Mindfulness for young people
We offer mindfulness courses for ages 7 – 19 years old. These courses can be run in a school or in a private setting. The whole programme consists of 8 -10 lessons (approximately 45 – 60 minutes) with a discrete topic covered in each lesson.
In school, the course could be integrated into the classroom as part of the school’s social, emotional and well being curriculum or be included as part of the extra-curricular programme.
In a private setting, the course could be run at a private home, club or private venue with a suitable environment. A private programme would need a minimum of 4 participants to run.
Mindfulness for teachers
We offer professional development for teachers on how mindfulness can be integrated into the classroom to enhance teaching and learning and also develop more balance and better well-being as a teacher.
Mindfulness for adults
We can create customised classes for adults wishing to explore the benefits of mindfulness. The class would include basic mindfulness philosophy, meditation, relaxation and mindful movement based on yoga asanas.
